Does anyone have one?
Seeing vids of them from the shooting show this weekend. They look good but you can never tell if those reviewing are being completely honest.
Have BSA gone to a barrel axis bolt rather than the pin on the older versions?
I’ll certainly have a good look, but I suspect I’ll be giving the woodwork a good few coats of oil before it gets any serious use (assuming it’s like 99% of other walnut airgun stocks; dry as hell).
A guy on "the other forum" has made a good thread documenting a lot of the features of the new Lightning.
The gun borrows a lot of its construction details from Gamo, but with upgrades compared to your normal 25mm piston Gamo.
The bolt is a screw, so not the old pin, but noone has really shown us if it compresses the forks like we want it to, or if it is just like other Gamos pinching the barrel against one of the fork sides without closing the other fork.
It has been extensively discussed in this thread:

Too many airguns!

So it has, thanks for the heads up, Evert.
Not on my radar until I saw a couple of vids this weekend.
Recent “chatter” on performance is the the moddy can loosen and the second stage on the trigger can be very stiff. Not sure how common these are ?

my mate has a nice one

Just seen Andy’s Airguns Review. Decent group at 40m. Looks more promising with every review I see.
Didn’t like Andy’s sales pitch re- limited walnut stocks though.
Ok, picked up the BSA .22 today from Broadway Gunroom, together with a pair of HW35e stainless (one in each calibre), as they’d finally come in.
Not had a chance to shoot it yet (dark by the time I got home), but to confirm the barrel axis bolt will clamp the forks together. It’s a nut and bolt arrangement, as opposed to one where the bolt threads into one side (like on the Webley Omega).
Not overly keen on the more recent (for BSA) single side of A4 as a manual.
Lovely wood on all 3, but as I feared I’ll be having to crack out the CCL conditioning oil.
Unscoped at the mo, but handles beautifully as a sporter.
