    CD Trigger guru required

Is there a CDTrigger unit (TX / Prosport) tuning guru on this forum? I know my way around the reKord, but the balancing act required in the CD unit is too much for my tiny brain. Any help, names, assistance, links would be appreciated. Ta. in advance. G

I can help mate... although defo not a trigger guru, but never had one I couldn't set up... I'm guessing you have "lost" your second stage ?

PM me, and we can have a chat tmrw.

    CD trigger unit

I would'nt call myself a CD guru but have not had problems getting them set nicely and have to say I found this easier to do than with a Rekord unit.

The key is getting the right balance between the front and rear adjusting grubscrews.

If you get the rear to far in you will loose the first stage and if you get the front too far in you will loose the second stage.
I tend to start with the second grub screw slightly further in than the first then tweak them by small increments depending on the feel.

You are looking to get the sear initially sitting on the tip of the first grubscrew and then as you pull the trigger back the second grub screw engages with the sear.

The diagram in the following link shows how the two grub screws work on the sear which makes it easier to visualise:

I’ve managed to get the trigger to a pretty good state. Shortish 1st stage and then reasonably positive second stage. It is a very light let off so now I need to think about the weight on that second stage pull. I assume that’s the back screw that’s currently blue loctite in place. My only gripe is it feels a bit gritty and squelchy! I guess a clean is in order?

if the first stage is too short for you...

back out the second stage screw a half-turn... one of two things will happen

    - most likely, the gun will fire without the second stage coming in.. that's fine, back out the first stage screw 1/4 turn at a time until the second stage comes in
    - or, it may go straight to the second stage, then fire.. which means it needs second stage screw backing out.

it's probably feeling gritty because the trigger stage screw are now running on a bit of the sear they've not ran one before, so it's like wearing in a brand new trigger.

trigger weight - yeah, the screw that drives the spring right at the back.
