Just got my date for the op….. 10th May. A lot later than I was expecting but still a hell of a lot quicker than I’d be waiting on the NHS sadly. Bit disappointed as I was expecting it within the next couple of weeks. I was quietly planning a day visit to The Bash had I have had the op earlier but that’s definitely out of the question now . Hey ho, I’ll just have to be the three million dollar man for a bit longer

Got some playtime on the '35 yesterday........

As posted on the HW35 Fettling thread:-

Got the chance to work on it yesterday.

Stripped and degreased. Started to shorten the spring. After a few seconds my Aldi rotary tool expired (it's about ten years old but hasn't had much use) so I used the bench grinder.

Rebuilt with a very sparing lube - just the feintist wipe of Bumslide on the 'O' ring and piston tail. A very conservative wipe with moly grease on the outside of the spring and.......RESULT!

It's now doing a shade under 12 with Hobby and Suoerdome. Fps consistency around 3fps. Cocking effort a little lighter and smoother. Stock bolts don't come loose. The end of the spring guide is level with the end of the cylinder. If the velocity doesn't drop a little more after a bedding-in period I'll probably reduce the spring a tad more.

Scoped it up. Very accurate, smooth and very pleasant shot cycle.

Job done for now unless I drop the power a tad.

I've got all the O rings for the 100, the missing ring was how it was when I got it. I was watching a strip & rebuild you tube when I spotted the ring on the youtubers valve which isn't there on mine.

The parts & respective rings are all laid out now ready to be fitted.

Sorry, I'd misinterpreted your comment about the missing ring. That and the Belleville situation should account for the majority of the rifle's woes.

As you said before, a nice, steady, methodical rebuild should have it performing brilliantly soon. Looking forward to the good news.
