    Divers bottle question

Morning all. I've acquired my air ranger back from my neighbour after 5 years. I sold to him with a load of extras, including a 7ltr air cylinder. Had 2 years on it when I sold it to him and now is out of date. It's not needed by me. Still has the air in it I left in it, as my neighbour never used the gun. It was like art for him. Question is regarding selling it. Would you sell as is for say £50 or spend £70 for a test and sell for maybe £120. Ultimately it's my decision but always happy to listen to advice. Happy Easter all. Kind regards Lee.

    my opinion

In my opinion .... personally I would never buy a bottle that was out of test, whatever the price.
A bottle test costs £45 , so If it were me I would do that then sell it.
Compare it to .... would you buy a car with no current mot certificate,??
    Pete.

I've just tested one for £50 and sold it for £120...tested till April 2030 and the new ones never have that long as they
have been sat in a shop/warehouse.

Bit pricey, my last test was £49,
having said that It's due again & price will have gone up along with every other price .

A best fittings 7ltr 300bar is £225 sent empty, so probably worth getting the test, ask £150 full, take £125, assuming they can fill it to 300bar.

You know your two options as you have stated them - so it's your choice, cheap and easy to a bit ore work and get a better price, but your not better off either way financially, so probably down to who in the area wants one as you can't post them

You can post. Must be empty and have valve fully open.

My divers shop has always said, if valve is open, moist air can get in the bottle which will start a reduction of cylinder life, ie rust.

    New 7L is about £250.
I have bought out of test bottles with no worries as long as they have some air in them.
    My last test cost £52.
So out of test about £75-80.
    Tested about £140-150.

    That's my thoughts.

Sorry but not with RM/PF, scuba tanks are listed as prohibited, full or empty

Don't know any any firm that will carry them for a private customer.

I posted one before. Empty with the valves open. I guess I was lucky then, that it got to new owner.
