    Abas Major for sale

Just seen one advertised for sale but not sure if the price is acceptable. Boxed early model in good condition with wood grips. Any ideas on present value ?

    generally speaking

In my experience a tidy Abas Major, with no box goes for about £500. I have seen a few at this price. With a tatty box I would expect a little more, but never more than £600.
In my opinion Baz, there are many sellers who believe that a boxed , rare pistol is very valuable. I am not of that opinion.

If I wanted it , I would value it at £1250.00

If you want it , buy it before someone else does.

I agree and would estimate a boxed, first series Abasmajor at around the £1000 mark.

There speaks a shooter rather than a collector! You either have a feel for air gun history or you don't.

Not that there is anything wrong with either viewpoint.

Thanks Sam, I do not want it, but fancy the next one this guy is selling, a Tell 3.
I totally disagree with that saying as I believe this short life we have will be appraised to determine the next very long term one.
