Afternoon all.

Big thanks to Mile Oak for putting out a good course and feeding us pre and post comp. The latter down to Darren and Nik – cheers chaps.

Very tricky wee breeze, especially up on the Downs of Doom. I know that I heard some of you saying how well you fared up on the hill and then got ‘hammered’ in the woods. My own experience was definitely the reverse. Hey ho, there’s always another round.

Top score today – a triad of 51s – were shared between Graeme Cargan (Mile Oaks’ new milliner), Howard Kalisch and Simon Vant. Very well done guys.

Is this the lowest top score in a SIHFT round? Not checked, but suspect it is. I’m absolutely certain it’s the first time that just 5 out of 68 entries have been in the 50s

SIHFT Round 3 is in 4 weeks, on Sunday 1st June at Meon Valley. Back in to some pleasant warm and dry woodland, where there is never even the slightest breath of wind.

Between now and then, there are events every weekend.

Next weekend (11th May) Round 2 of this year’s UKAHFT is oooop North at Womersley.

On the 18th, the Welsh National Championship combined with the UKAHFT .22 Championship is being hosted by Nelson HFT.

And on the 25th April, Mile Oaks’ doors open again for the club’s Charity ‘Pairs’ Event. Full detail on the Mile Oak and SIHFT Facebook pages very shortly.
