Hi all, I'm a beginner to target air pistol and was wondering - would it be better to get a second hand / refurbished higher-end air pistol (eg an early steyr), or to purchase a new but cheap air pistol?

Current airguns:- Steyr LG110: Steyr LP10: Air Arms HFT500: Weihrauch97 fully customised.
Depends really what you define as higher end and cheap, not all more affordable new Pistols are that bad at all, some are even copies of a Higher end gun but just lack the name and on the other end it might have a higher price tag and name but turn out naff, especially if its been refurbished poorly.
Maybe it's worth more posting your budget and any needs other than target that you might have like grip size if you've got bigger or smaller hands or ease of use, that way you'll get some ideas to look at and shop around for, maybe even turn up a pistol thats been fettled by one of the Tuners here that would'nt have otherwise been found.

A good used pistol will hold it's value better than a cheap new one,
Be very careful though as they're a popular scam, on Guntrader & Gunstar as a size that can be posted,
only buy face to face, from a dealer, or from a known member on this or other forums.
some good second hand pistols out there
you only get one life live it to the best of your ability
Second hand in my opinion.
They fly down in price if you ask me 😊
