Right here we are guys im not really one for writing reviews but i thought you may be interested in this story !!
About 1 year ago i went into a shop and brought a pair of BARSKA 10 x 50 Binoculars for hunting etc they cost me about £ 70 pounds roughly after comparing to 2 or 3 other makes these has the best wiew for the money.
Ive used these quite happily for about a year untill i looked through my uncles leica binos and was blown away by the quality of his fanatsic optics colours, clarity, low light etc etc.
Any way i came into some money the other day and wanted some binos to the same sought of quality as my uncle's leica and after reading some reviews on STEINBERG , LEICA , SWARSQKI, Zeiss, Nikon and some Bushnell and loads of others I decided to head on down the local shop and see what i could get for a few hundred quid . The Nikons in a lot of reviews came out best for value wise without getting a mortgage.
I explained to the chaps in the shop that i had been using my BARSKA Binos for about a year and wanted to upgrade to something a tad better , no problems they said and started handing some binos off the shelf.
The first pair we tried were the NIKON MONARCH range 10 x 42 £220 these where priced at. we both looked through these Binos across the Park and and compared these against mine , STROOTH the shopkeeper said Where did you get these from talking about my BARSKA's they are brilliant. The Nikons didnt come close to clarity wise a little brighter but lots of colour ditortion all the way across lens .
We did this all the way through the range from the NIKONS all the way through the BUSHNELL range The STEINER Range and The PENTAXS. In all fairness though they didnt have full range of steiners in only the cheaper models.
Anyway Finally after looking and playing comparing now with about 3 members of staff the only thing that beat my BARSKA BINOS wher the NIKON HG Range At About £1300 Retail .
The Shop keepers all agreed the quality of the top end Nikons Was Very Crisp, Sharp, Quick Focusing Etc. They Where £1300. For that I said I could go and buy a pair of LEICA.
They Asked Me Where I Purchased My Binos and how much i payed and when i told them £70 pounds The look on there faces was incredible !!
They said if i was you id stick with what you have ummmmm .
Now i'm not saying by any means that these are the best binos in the world for £ 70 quids , But what i am saying is if you see a pair try them out !!.
Bang For Buck id say.
Also never read reviews on binoculars on the internet and buy because untill you have a pair in you hands to look through you never know what you are getting for your money .

Many thanks
