When I got this BSA Sporting, it had lots of issues to repair, broken spring, faulty piston seal. Got it shooting great but the Lyman aperture that came with it needed a higher front sight. It had already been replaced with a Lyman blade. The dovetail was already widened so I purchase a taller blade sight made in the US. The gun works great now dead accurate and is a hoot to shoot. The front sight bothered me so today, I took my Dremel and ground away. These 1914 sights weren’t quite as delicate as post war. First pic is from the Gallery of the correct Sporting sight. Following is my process to completion on the rifle. The US sight made for a pretty good blank.
