Back in the early 80s I was shooting a lot of practical pistol, hence the purchase of a Dillon RL450. At the end of the decade, divorce and the inevitable financial pressures forced me to give up and sell everything. My Dillon went to a friend who had a gunshop.

After 20 odd years, when finances eased I started collecting a few antique guns, one of which fell foul of the 2019 legislation (.320 British) so I had to apply for FAC. Of course this led to me starting shooting again. It turned out that my local RFD had a lot of the stock from my friends shop and amongst it was my old Dillon. I had to have it back.

I'd already bought a Lyman Spat T turret press so it's taken a while to get the Dillon up and running but that was this weekends project. I sorted the last item this morning (primer feed) and loaded a few 45/70s just to iron out any bugs. There were none.

I took my time over them, but even so it was much quicker than the Spar T and it seems that after 40 years the press is still functioning exactly as it should.

The other good part is that the guys at Dillon are SO helpful. After getting it I found a few small parts had gone astray over the years so I called Dillon in the States. No-one answered so I just thought "Try again later", but I had hardly sat down when the phone rang. It was the man at Dillon, appologising for missing my call. He sorted me out in double quick time and my parts arrived about 10 days later.
