Sitting in the traffic tonight, lights at red (for ages).

For some reason my mind went back to a time when a salesman in a gun shop tried to convince me to buy 0.25 BSA Mercury Challenger. Hard hitting, ideal for rats etc. etc. etc.

I was after a 0.22 (as most folk once were) and even though his claims might have been factually correct I left to catch the bus home with my 0.22 in a big cardboard box and the gun shops name proudly emblazoned on the label. No one bothered in the slightest.

XX years later (in tonights traffic) I wondered. Should I have bought that BSA. Would it be nice to own it now - for rarity value if nothing else?

So here I am thinking. Did you guys ever pass on the opportunity to pick up a nice pistol or rifle only to regret it at some point?

"C'est la vie.", as we say in the French speaking parts of Glasgow.
