£200 ain't going to get you set up with a good Pcp gun & bottle etc, so I would take that money and buy yourself a Tx200 , and stick a quality silencer on it for the hunting trips..

After being out of the loop with airguns for some 20 years or so I would like to get back into some occasional hunting and therefore have to buy a gun. Problem is now whether to buy a springer, like my old Original 35S, or one of the newer pcp guns. Looking to spend in the region of £200 or so and don't mind buying a good secondhand gun but wonder what advice some of you knowledgable members could offer as to which kind of gun and suggestions as to models etc? Hoping you can help a relative newbie out with this one and thanks in advance for any help you can offer

HW 75 .177
HW 45 Black Star
for £200 your in the price range of a hw 95k or bsa xl , and you might be able to get a a cheap 3-9x40 scope , both good guns
The difficulty with starting out with PCP is that you will also need some method of chargeing the gun. Either pump or air bottle neither are cheap.
As suggested you could pick up quite a reasonable Springer for your money, and be more than happy.
Check out the "For Sale" section and I'm sure you will be able to sort out something for yourself.
Don't be in a rush, watch what's going and for how much. Then jump in and get your bargain.

The TX200 seems to get good reviews and I think that may well be the choice and then add a good scope and silencer on top...many thanks for advice so far
The TX would be an excellent choice.
They come up for sale now and then and would be a good buy.

seconded....doubt if you'd get a tx200 and scope for £200Originally Posted by ninjazx6guyoo4
Have a look at the BSA spitfire. I've seen a few around with charging gear for less than £200. Lovely gun, just seem to be 'unfashionable' at the moment.

Seconded. Got both. The HW is better made...but I prefer the BSA, much better balance for me. ...... For you? Who knows?Originally Posted by ninjazx6guyoo4
