I recently purchased an Original Model 5. I would like to replace the pistol's main seal. Can any explain how to remove the seal? I've managed to remove the end cap and spring but can't figure out how to get the seal out to replace it. Do I need to do any additional breakdown of the gun?
Thanks for any help and assistance...

Thanks all... Found the article and was able to disassemble the gun... Now, will I be able to reassemble? I do have another question... When reassembling, do I need to grease the new seal and piston? Or just the new seal? Or just the piston? Also what about the spring, grease or not? Thanks in advance...

Fit the new washer to the piston, it's just a push fit though it may take a little 'pushing'. Put one drop of oil around the washer edge, wipe it around and then wipe off with a finger. It should be virtually dry, it's soul purpose is to ease the washer into the cylinder, after that it will pick up lube on its rearward stroke. Apply a little moly grease to the piston sides, spring and guide. Reassemble and add a drop of oil to the pins as you go.Originally Posted by abear
No lube should be in front of the washer, if it gets there it will smoke. A tiny bit of smoke for a short while is OK when it beds in but if it persists then strip it down again and degrease.
Hope that helps.

Did you say ease the washer on? It was anything but easy... After a lot of effort, I got it on.... The gun works great! Thanks for all the help... My first refurb!...Originally Posted by Phil Bulmer
I've found that using a couple small pocket screwdrivers or jewelers screwdrivers, the seal can be pried(prised) over the conical boss that holds it. Kind of like fitting a tire(tyre) to a rim. RB( the Yank)
put the washer in a cup of hot water first helps
