Following on from a post by Spudgun with reference to shooting standing "like a _real hunter_ would," i thought i'd post this poll to see what everyone does.

What's your most favoured stance under normal hunting conditions? i.e. taking into account things you'd normally encounter whilst hunting. Mine's kneeling as a rule unless it's a long shot in which case i'd opt for prone where possible. I only stand as a last resort or if it's a close shot. <img src="http://jsramsbottom.co.uk/bbs/e/icon_smile.gif" alt="Smile" width="15" height="15"><!--graemlin:-->[/quote]

Each situation is unique, but I always try to have a rest for the rifle (fence post, tree limb, bipod, whatever) Rice paddy prone wasn't even mentioned in the poll positions but I've used that many a time in the past. The sign of a good hunter is the ability to adapt to the environment and situational awareness.
