all welcome.
We'll just stick a load of targets out and shoot - not a competition just a meeting of minds to see what we can do in the real world. With 12ft/lbs to FAC.
I shot a 1" group at 400 yards standing last night. If anybody disbelieves me I'll scan it as proof.
Seriously, just a bit of fun and laid back socialising. If you fancy it, here's your chance. Maybe try a long range HFT or something.
I'll take the groups as shot and post the stats.
It won't mean much a the primary factor, no matter what any fantasist says, is wind. At long distances a miniscule variation in wind = a big variation in POI
Sorry mate - it's so easy to stress perfect conditions, but how often, even is Oz, do you get zero wind 4000 feet up? Elvis also said it was better to have a side wind. How often does nature provide a sidewind with <.25mph variation?
Elvis also said that the weight of JSB are 15g
Elvis also said that he'd shot many rabbits over 100 yards with an Eliminator, missing none and never needing a second shot..
Credibilty just gets thinner and thinner..
Given time he'd have been turning water into wine and the gullible would believe him!
150 yard sub 1" - YES given enough tries
150 yard predictable sub 1" NO FLICKING WAY!
100 yard 1" pipe laid ready to shoot down![]()

As I said in an earlier post, I think Harry may be overstating the repeatability aspect. You have to admit, though, it's going to be fun trying these longer ranges. The only thing that worries me is that people are going to read the threads and assume they can go shooting live targets at this distance - I know that this was the cause of your original vocal objections but it didn't come across clearly enough. I look forward to seeing the groups too, I've already posted my not-so-impressive effort which I'm certain I'll improve upon.
Perhaps some benchrest shooters could post some tips on this thread.
Very well put, to be honest just glancing at the posts (and Elvis sure can post!, or could post) I thought he was getting a hard deal, but as GC said the chance of doing it every time are nil and he was using live quarry to shoot, that is just not acceptable, no way Jose, Harry or Elvis.
Knockover targets stripped of paint, contact driver for details...
