I'v gone out to 100 yards with my airifle and I can competently say anything past 70 yards when trying to hit a 40mm kill you looking at a very low sucess rate!

i have 2 groups at an Inch at 140 yards and mine are not measured CTC, one is shot by me and one is shot by a friend of mine on the same day, we had 3 scottish bikers at our range watching. i wonder if the word spread around in the highlands. besides that there where another 10 men at the range watching it. ive been doing this shooting for a whole year now. 31grainers at 924ft/s.
my group
my friends group
another group at 170 yards. the 4 shots at the top are 4 inches apart.
the thing that annoyed me most in the article is that there was no data on the amount of elevation dialled or hold over used! almost all long range shooters keep a record of this and im surprised nothing was mentioned.
if you tell me that i can bring my air rifle to the UK, i'll be happy to attend in september.

Just got back from the meet today. It was a superb day and good to meet Gary C, Sammy, Airgunner and a few others. Thanks to Gary C for letting me try a mouth-watering selection of FAC and non-FAC rifles which I'd never get the opportunity to do otherwise. The course was very windy so very difficult to do some proper testing at range, but it became perfectly clear that even when there was no wind getting good groupings over 80 yards is very difficult. Was pleased with my sub-1" groupings at 30 yards with the 95 tho
Anyway, excellent day and thanks to the organisers for hosting it. I suspect right now they are either hunting rabbits on the site or in the pub!

I can count to potato.
The wind was just a tad blustery today which meant that little consistency in grouping could be achieved at even standard distances (up to 45 yards). (Or was that just me?).
Good to see Gary and Sammie C again and of course Uncle Fester (Treeman).Nice to meet Chris and impatient Piotr as well.
Thanks for laying that on Barry. I really enjoyed today.![]()
