AIRSPORTER MK6 - Advice Please on Replacing Spring / Piston Washer

I am looking to replace the main spring and piston washers of my MK6. I have heard though that when carrying this operation out, the trigger mechansim is a bit complicated and a pain to put back in.
Has anyone experienced this and if so do you have any tips to make the job easier?

    Many thanks

    Pat.

I have done a few, 'Not the best way' but it worked for me.

    Take off the stock.
Take off the underlever and pivot arms, you have to knock out
the pivot pin through the alloy trigger base and unscrew the guide.

This will let you rotate the alloy trigger. make sure no one has added a pin
anywhere to prevent it unscrewing. unscrew it a few turns to check.

If ok and its still under spring pressure,
Remove the front sight incase of damage, drop a load of rags on the floor and stick the barrel into them. grab the action in your left hand
and holding the alloy trigger in your right hand and lean over the lot with the trigger against your stomach and the barrel on the floor in the rags.
keep the pressure up and turn the action untill the trigger pops out.

Sometimes the steel insert in the trigger becomes free and is left inside
holding the spring in, thats another story.

replace in reverse. ensure trigger lines up and is tight or it wont cock.

Mike. (ps. dont attempt this after lunch)

    Spring Replacement

Thanks for that information. I was a bit concerned about the trigger assembly getting messed up.

    ..and

...if you are daft like me and disasssemble the actual trigger from the trigger block (because I thought it was snagging the block from rotating ! ) there is a large fat spring right up inside the block creating the trigger bounce - make sure it don't fall out , or worse drop sideways and then get crushed when you reassmble the block to action ....

Ive worked on a few Airsporters (and Mercurys ) in my time and have never had need to strip the trigger during dismantling. The curved end blocks can make it a pig to replace.
