Career fetling

I would just like to thank Jon (buddyboy), for giving up sunday morning to help me with some serious fetling on my new(old) Career! a gun that really needed some fetling work in various quarters, and still has some to go, to start with the pellet feed gate needed trimming down to allow the smooth flow of bizmags, and the hammer spring needed shortening by a couple of coils, but it is still pushing out bizmags at a touch over 1000fps and we won't even go down the AA field road while adjusting(playing) we did a silencer test on one of Jons guns at 55yrds and the all out champ was the Ripley, although it made no difference whether it was the long ripper or the medium one, they also silenced mine down a lot, producing just a loud click at 65yrds.
As I say, I have a way to go with mine yet, but it is looking very promising, and the down range accuracy, even in todays blustery conditions is outstanding.

I will keep you informed, and as for pictures, it was either pictures or sunday roast, no contest really

Just got mine back from Range Right -should be doing 45ft/lbs with Bismags.

Am gonna take it up to the range now and check -back in a while.

With Bisley Magnums!

48.5ft/lb!

Was consistent too, with the first string reading 1019, 1017, 1019, 1010, 1017. After a few more it started to drop to the high 900's.
Also seems pretty accurate, but its not helped by the horrendous trigger. Will be buying a spring kit and regulator from the ATeam when I get the chance.

BTW, You are right about the Ripley Kev, I have put a 7.5" on, which is MUCH more effective than the Logun at this sort of power.

The reg is great - I'm going to be ordering one or two more soon, was going to put a post up to see if we could club together and mayeb save a couple of quid - won't be for a few weeks though as Ray (A-Team) is off getting married

hehe, if you want a real laugh put AA fields through it - Ripper silencer won't help too much sorting that crack out !

Another day another fettle, I left this thread with the career doing a good impression of a backfiring BSA Goldstar, well today was a major fettle day and a full strip down ensued, there was then a good clean of all parts before dropping in an A-TEAM reg, and whipping it all back together, a blast through of air, then a re-fill and a mag or two of Bis-Mags, still up there in the 1000's still to noisy and still using too much air, so back in, part strip, and a longer but much softer hammer spring was fitted, back together, another blast of air, and again run a Mag over the Chrono.

This time it was a result, 970 avg using Bis-Mags, 28 consistent shots at 45ft/lbs before it started to drop off. Oh yes the rabbits had better worry now, as the 100yrd accuracy on this gun is incredible
