Mine's a spritely 23 years of age, still on the original barrel and shoots clean cards when I do my bit. That said, shoot it from a machine rest beside a new, high quality rifle (Bleike, Anschutz 2013, FWB 2700, Walther KK300 etc) and the groups are a little larger (tested with a number of manufacturers ammunition of differrent batches).
In short, for club level competition a Match 54 or even BSA International will do the job admirably.
I had a look in Churchley's for you last week - no LH used stock in at the moment, but he did have a new KK300!

Bates in Birmingham have some .22 prone rifles in stock at reasonable prices. Might be worth a look.
