Good grief! I was totally wrong about not bothering with that one, it looks fantastic.
You're not 'avin a larf' and posting a pic of another one are you?
Wow! Good job that man!
(Damn you for not selling it to me! )
Seriousy though, that is an incredible transformation. You must be well pleased with that.
Really nice
I've got an early diana model 27 in a similar state - how did you get shot of the rust - oil and wool or a chemical remover.
the results look outstanding

Wow what a total transformation. And do you know what is the best bit? You did it all yourself. Turned something fit for the scrap heap into a nice little gun with loads of character.
There is nothing more satisfying than that!
Well done.
As for the rear sight leaf, you could probably get that from John Knibbs, although it will need ageing to make it match the rest of the gun. Otherwise it will atand out like a sore thumb.

thanks for the replies chaps all i did was clean it up with a wire brass wheel in a drill ...... and i had to fill to grooves where some one had ground 2 scope rails in the top filled it with a weld then polished out .
the internals where clean as a whistle as they were greased ....... all in all well pleased as i was just after a working pre war air rifle .
Well whatever you did it looks cracking
Plus I like the fact you didn't go overboard so it looks too refurbished (if you could do such a thing )
You have got me thinking what I could do to my Webley pistol now ......Did your rifle have any stamped letters or numbers? Also are these visible now you have reblued the rifle?
ATVB and you should be proud

Excellent work, I've tried that cold blueing cream though and had results nowhere near as good as that... What's the secret?
