I use aa field (not in a pro target however)
Find them one of the best, but are susceptible to damaged skirts.
This might explain the flyers.
I tend to open a new tin and weed out any dubious pellets which are then used for garden plinking.

Sorry if this has been done to death before
Can any long term users of the above rifle let me know which is their preferred pellet?
I am currently using AA field 4.52 and although they seem ok I get a lot of 'flyers'
This of course could be due to my own poor technique . But not every time and not off a bench rest!
I just haven't got the time at the moment to sit down and test X no of different types of pellets so a short list of 2 or 3 which are known to work well would be useful.
Thanks in anticipation

Reckon the PT pellet shortlist will look something like this:
AA fields
Daystate FTs
JSB Exacts
Crosman Premiers 7.9gn
I'm currently using JSB Exacts 4.52 but mine's an older PT (RN10)
And also much cheaper than the others especially from www.airammo.co.ukOriginally posted by Numb Nut

My Mk2 ran well on Daystate 4.51 but when the 4.53 came out the groups tightened up to a point where further improvement was highly unlikely.
If your gun likes fields then Daystates are the pellet to try. I'm only aware of 1 gun (springer) that ever did better on fields than Daystates and that's out of several dozen.
I have got to agree with Darren. My pro-target Mk2 is really good with daystate 4.52 - have not tried 4.53 yet though.
It does not group as well with AA fields.
Thanks Guys
I had a sneaking feeling that Daystate pellets were going to be high up the list
Can someone recommend the best place to order some (4.53/ 4.52)
TIA

Try Pellpax
Fleety
My Protarget Mk3 shot well with AA 4.52's. As you said seemed to get un explained fliers. I switched to Daystate 4.53's, the groups tightend and had fewer fliers. I got these pellets straight from the factory. Try phoning the factory and speak to Tony.

Dai.
People said smile things could get worse, so I smiled and they did!
Thanks for all the replies.
Had some good tips from Paul at 'airammo' and I've ordered some jsb's to try.
Will let you know how I get on.
Cheers
