    Hi,

I only only had the pleasure of knowing John for a couple of years, and it was down to him that I got back into shooting. I bought my first PCP off him, a Steyr. And from then on we used to shoot together on a regular basis up at Anston.

It was a great shock when June rang me Saturday morning with the sad news. We were to shoot together at Codnor on Sunday, and I felt it only right to carry on and take part.

John shot for the pure pleasure of shooting and using airguns, he'd had more guns than most of us have had hot dinners!! I don't think he had a standard gun...ever!. I think he got as much pleasure from owning and modifying guns as from actually shooting them.

    Please Read

Hello, i am new to the forum and was recommended to join by a good friend.
The good friend i am speaking about is John Tatershill, Nickname Tatt on here.
The sad news is that Tatt died last week from a mass heart attack and it has been a very big shock for the ones that knew him and his family. He was a great guy with a good sense of humour and i used to fish and shoot with him regularly, it is indeed sad to see him go at his age and he will be missed alot. I thought i would let you guys know as he visted here and was fond of the site you have. May i just say, to Tatt, R.I.P wherever you may be.

    God bless, Mick.

There was never a dull moment when John was at the club.
He took great pleasure in pulling my leg by calling me Bob and I always smoked twice as many fags when he was there with his never ending supply of roll ups and endless chat.
He was a generous bloke with a heart of gold that would do anyone a favour if he could and that is how I will always remember him.

You will be truly missed buddy.

    Very sad news indeed.

I have just got back from Singapore and got a call from my good friend Dick (AVANTI) to let me know the tragic news about John.

John,Dick and myself had recently had a good days shooting at our local farm in Nottingham on Bank Holiday Monday and although Tat wasn't as spritely as he once was,he still had a good day and was in lively spirits, laughing and joking as usual - fag hanging out the corner of his mouth,as we trudged across the fields.

R.I.P. our old mate - you will be greatly missed

Johns funeral is on Friday the 18th at 13.15, at Mansfield, Notts.

Both Anston and the BBS will be represented, and I'm sure his family will be in all our thoughts at that time.
