Noone?
I have recently (this morning) swapped my redundant Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 for an Apollo Silver Star 4x40(with Gloss finish). Are they any good? Roughly how old is it? And does anyone know roghly how much it is worth? No crimping, just a little scratch from the mounts and a small mark on one of the turret caps.
Cheers,
Ali.

If I remember Apollo used a numbered star rating - I had a 5 star 3-9x40 which was very good.
They were out and about in the early 90's and I think were distributed by Gunmark.
Quality and price wise I would draw comparison with a similarly spec'd Nikko Sterling from the same era.(not a lot of money but reasonable optics)
Ive a couple of these one two star and one five stars, there a good scope as the previous posts have explained, the stars on mine are on the top off the scope at the back where it says ie 3x9x40 and the stars are painted under the 3x9x40.
You've been done Alice
a no star
