Had rust on my barrel when I got home Serves me right for not wiping it down before I cased it up. Like Connors gun, mine was a right state with mud everywhere.
But all is not lost, a good clean up and rub down with oil and it seems OK.

Thanks very much to the guys at Buxted for setting a great course...
Shame about the weather... I'm SURE I saw Dorothy's house flying by when I was out in the field!
Not sure what has happened, but I scored 49, not 40!
Cheers guys.

M.A.D. FOR IT!
Now corrected Si. Most of the cards were in quite a state and so covered in mud, it did look like 40.

Henri Bregne 1837 - 1899
I started on peg 26 ie with 5 in the field in that hailstorm at the start of session 1.
My first nearly missed the left hand edge of the plate (despite aiming off right) the next one went right(obviously), somehow the "finger" went down and I was lucky to hit the plate on the next 2.
ie I went into the woods 4 down after only 5 shots. "Oh goody" I thought
My shooting partner (Pat the Springer God) was having a mare. To add to the joy of it all I decided to regail all and sundry with a jolly tune or two. The two Lea Valley lads ahead of us were heard to mutter:
"Just when you think it can't get any worse, he starts singing!"
Can't wait 'til the next one
