a weiraugh 3x9 scope specially made for the 77 i have one but on a FWB sport
they DO come up for sale on here occasionally but can be expensive as they are rare but excellent quality
I have tried to fit an old Tasco to my mid 80's custom HW77 but it is really long, extends over the loading port and makes it hard to get pellets into the breech. What would be a good period scope to go on this?

tasco ag 2-7x32
Optima Moonlighter or 3-9 Tasco AG??.
Thanks for the answers
Kassnar Compact 3-9 x 40. It was THE scope to have at the time.
I had a Nikko Sterling Gold Crown on mine at the time. Reasonable price for quite good optics.
I would go for a MTC 10x44
Have one on my HW97, no problems

Can I ask a quick supplementary question and (and apologise for the semi-hijack) - seems to be quite a few HW77 scope experts on this thread!
How is the front sight fitted on a HW77K? (ie easily removed when fitting a scope?) And if a silencer is fitted how does this fit into the equation?
Max; looking for: Baikal IZH 61 side lever rifle
Mk1 HW77 has an integral front sight blade, part of the lever catch assembly.
Mk2 and beyond the blade and ramp is separate from the underlever catch, held on by a small screw.
Silencer - depends on type, the Venom style replaces the whole lever catch assembly, HW did one that slips over the catch assembly.
Original 2.5x32
