I believe it is but nothing radical. The rifling is different too and the barrel is 24 inch rather than 26. Stock is also a little different as it was made just for this rifle. There is a debate as to it being better than the PSS for the few $$ more. Get a good rifle of either of them and you'll have something very very good. I went for this one and I'm pleased I did.
