Cheers

All the details are on this thread. Are you and Dave going to be camping, Mark?
Thanks for the link, I'd missed that.
Yes we are planning on being there for the weekend, so we can have the odd beer.
Cheers

Oooohhh now this should be fun
Do you get bonus points on the Safari shoot for using summit that looks in keeping? Dads been getting very attached to a Benjamin 342 (pumpy-uppy-thingy) that he's just fixed for me and I'm musing that my Daisy Powerline 880 might be due a day out in the sunshine. Not sure how I'll look after a 300-pump-ups course...or even if it'll get to 45 yards, might be a bit of fun though

Put my name down for the weekend, should be a good laugh even though I can't hit a barn door at the moment
Steve.
3 out of the 4 courses are set, looks like being a good weekend .
I won't make it till evening, work strikes again.
Don't let Matt drink all the vino and eat all the BBQ

Sorry we missed this afternoons shoot, the garage fairy has been giving some remedial work to a couple of bits I *acquired* during the week...
I have quietly retreated from the garage having dropped off another cup of coffee whilst he was entrenched in an embittered battle with an O ring and a match trigger than had been crafted out of aruldite.
I've just spent a highly informative 20mins with Chairgun.
The good news is my trusty little Daisy 880 is up and raring to go!
The bad news is that I remember it being a lot more powerful when I was 12.
Actually I remember it being huge.
Nevermind a sling, if it had a belt hook I could pop it on my side.
The Blue Book reckons that at 10 pumps its a full power beastie; which it probably is in the States. Mine is the European version with the F in a pentagon on the side to show its limited to 6 joules. Or to be precise, 10 pumps = 500fps with a JSB exact...and as its one of the few iddy biddy .177 I own that comes out at approx 4.66ftlb.
Still, bit more Oomph than Chris' Mk.III with no breech seal
I have zeroed it (ish) at 10 yards, and have retained the original scope... a Rhino 4x20 in one of those cage type mounts. According to chairgun this gives me a secondary zero at about 20yds, so from 10 to 20 I should stand a fighting chance of at least plating summit. At 30yds I'm dropping 1.7", at 35yds its 3" and by the time we get to 45yds I'm having to aim 8.2" high.
So question is.... can 4.66ftlb get to 45 yards, and if it does will it have enough momentum to actually knock anything down?
Hmmm... we shall see!
batfink, thats class. look forward to 45 deg shooting
Last night was a right laugh, don't miss out on this one .
