Thanks, Jim... and well done to all! Witzend - a very good idea to use a standard 4" CP88 for the Pocket Pistol !

Thanks for running these Jim. The rifle comp is great fun, even if the last shot on target 2 I had to almost shoot from the hip as I'd run out of time! Next time I need to find pellets that will just drop in rather than needing pushing home.

I couldn't do the pocket pistol in the end because my P23 has decided it won't feed reliably.

Look over all details of the posted results, mates: I was posting them late last night, and falling asleep in the process (it reminded me of my old school days!)

Yes, Witzend really ran the roost THIS month, didn't he? Well, let's all of us show him NEXT month who's boss!

The optical pistol category seems to have fallen by the wayside but I'm still going to keep it, and hope that it starts becoming active again, as it used to be.

Having shot the 6 yard category with a single shot, my comments are:

    1) I don't even know what I was THINKING when I originally tried to make it a 45 second event!

    2) I have no objection to making it a "minute and a half" event, if others feel likewise.

    3) next time I'm going to use my multishot Crosman! Even at 45 seconds, I'll be able to concentrate on shooting it, rather than reloading it.

Well done to Witzend for the good shooting.

45 second time limit...make it as long as you see fit Jim and thanks for running the competition

Remember that IF the overall length of the PISTOL (not the barrel) exceeds 7.5 inches, then it's not "legal" as a Pocket pistol for this comp.

    Seconded on Witzend!

The "45 seconds" limit IS going to remain in place for multishot rifles. If you can't get off 6 aimed shots in 45 seconds with a multishot, you need to practice more. But for the single shot rifles...I originally wanted to make that 45 seconds too, but that's just not practical, so I raised it to 1 minute: and even that requires faster movements than many of us may be capable of.

That's why I say I'll go along with a change from 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, in the SINGLE shot category only, IF there's a desire among our shooters for it.
