I just got luckyplus remember I took the straight jacket off for the comp.In all seriousness for me the best thing about the jacket is it takes all the strain off your lower back

If a man talks in the woods and nobody hears him, is he still wrong?
Hmmmmm, niiice Chuck! Hope the work went well with the "tatty old springers"!
Meanwhile, back on the "you cant wear that for shooting on the 10m range" front, I have to admit to digging out an old black leather bike jacket. However , it doesn't take ten minutes to put on or require the wearing of "special" underwear, but I might attach a chain or two so the proper Gimps dont feel too isolated as they strut their stuff.
I cant wait to see what people will be wearing tomorrow night!!!! Big Ian is more than welcome to prop his gut on the bench, and little Ian can b----r off with that bell paint!

Unfortunately, I have to report that my old Black leather biking jacket did appear to have a positive effect on scores. Not on my own, but on a fellow competitiors! Once I had manged to do up the zip over my considerable gut, I could barely breath, never mind shoulder the rifle properly.
Still, at least it increased your score John! Although I will persevere with old and traditional leather before I am seduced to the full dark side of "gimp" suits, plywood shoe attachments and blinkers.
We also now have another new (1980s) FWB 601 to battle against as the 10m target bug continues to bite us all.

Thanks for the loan of the jacket Andy, certainly improved my score. This 10 mtr could get expensive as well has addictive. We could always convert our Steyrs back to 6fl/lbs.
Enjoyed your article in Airgunner, by the way, a well written piece. Looking forward to part two.
John
Thanks John.
I am quite happy to carry on using my old bike jacket as it somehow feels right when using a classic airgun. Not like these 601 puffs and their brightly coloured gaywear.

As for the full pint into a half pint glass comment Ian, I am thinking of wearing the very "figure hugging" matching kecks but would worry about getting too close to a certain lady with wandering hands...
