Holts Auction 16th December
Hi,
I posted an earlier thread relating to the estimated hammer price for a boxed pre-war straight grip Webley Senior which I thought was extremely low ( £100- £150) compared with the estimated prices published for similar items in a Holts sale I attended in June. I have just visited the Holts Website and the realised prices are being progressively displayed. The Senior went under the hammer at £330 which with 22.5 % Buyers commission + VAT on Commision would mean the Buyer paid just over £400 which was what I thought it would probably make. A bit of a surprise however was the Webley Mk 1Air Rifle which was viewed by a BBS member who described it as being in poor condition went for a hammer price of £600 which would equate to around £750 with Commision. You can view both the catalogue and realised prices on the Holts Website.
