hi and welcome
Hi all
Ive just turned 40 and im having a mid life crisis !
Im looking for a new hobby to stimulate me, and maybe find something that my son will be intrested in to encourage a bit of male bonding before I lose him to University
Ive owned a few air rifles in the past, nothing terribly exciting or expensive but due to changes in circumstances it was not really practical or safe to carry on enjoying my back yard plinking sessions, so I passed my rifles off to responsible friends etc.
I did join a target shooting club in my youth but I didnt really feel welcome in the club and my limited funds at the time made me feel isolated so I became disillousioned and drifted away from the sport.
Im finally in a financial position to invest some money into my hobbies although I have no idea whats available in my area or what id like to do. I am open to any and all suggestions, travelling reasonable distances is no problem.
Anyway thanks for taking the time to read my post.
hi and welcome
Hello and Welcome to the BBS.
I introduced my son to Airgun shooting when he was around six years old just to see if he would like it.
Four and a half years later and we still go shooting together when whenever get the chance.
Good Luck.

Hi Robin;
Wherebouts are you in Leicester? There's a couple of great clubs nearby:
http://www.kibworthshootingground.co.uk/
Dowry Hill @ Groby
There's a good shop at the Kibworth Shooting Ground, and another at Merlin Archery nr. Loughborough:

If you're close to Oakham, I can take you down to Hereward but that's more P'boro way.

Hello and welcome,
I would also suggest Kibworth gun club as a good place to buy all your kit.
You can try before you buy and there is a good selection of used air rifles. I took my lad to the range for about three years. I have stuck to my shooting but the lad now plays golf and no longer shoots.
Good luck,
DB.
Don't forget Redhill Revolvers who meet regularly at the Leicester Outdoor Persuits Centre for the pistol shooting side of things
Give us a shout in the pistols section if you're interested, you could pop along and try out a few disciplines before you buy anything
