Hi just a quick one, could anyone let me know the dates for the above rifle the serial no is 44283, it has the straight hand stock and is 43" long. One of my friends has just got it via an auction and paid £42 for it. It is going to require some tlc but it is working so it will just be a case of replacing non original parts if any should require it and see how we go from there.

John Knibbs has it manufactured between July and Sept 1911, with most despatched July to August of that year. Sounds cheap, 'nless it's a lemon.
