Blimey it's good, just had a go on one at my local gunshop!
May have to invest in some of the bay grips. There's a couple of pages worth of grips, are the screw holes all in the right place?
I was gutted about the Umarex MP5, it is really naff. I am hoping that this one will be better and be a true blowback rather than just opening an ejection port.
I'm really hoping its as good as the Uzi which is excellent.

I ordered a pair of over-sculpted aluminium looking grips too, hopefully they can be fettled.

Finally got my mits on one

The Pachmayr grips were almost a perfect fit - just required a strong hand to stretch a little for the last screw - no other adjustment necessary
The rubber grips really increase the girth of the grip and fit my shovel like hands nicely, though they do divert somewhat from the attraction of keeping it in keeping with the original piece.
I had no idea when I first posted my desire for one of these just how good a copy they are - I am seriously pleased with it.
They appear to be an absolute steal for the price - and that's in the face of the fact I paid a fair bit more than some have on here at just over a ton.
It needs multiple spare mags.
If I were to write a wish list then I would have the manufacturer fit .177 rifled barrels capable of taking lead ball as standard and have the rear sight be in a windage adjustable slot, so that not only could it be adjusted ordinarily, but so it could be also be replaced with a fully adj. rear sight if the owner so wished.
But on balance - what a beaut
Glad you got one dude, looks a treat with the Pachmayrs on it. The original wooden grips I fitted to mine were obviously replaced by pachmayrs on the original pistol as they came in a very very old (1970s maybe) Pachmayr box.
I am sure the spare mags will arrive eventually, maybe we should all mail SMK\Cybergun about them.
See the other thread posted recently about lead ammo, the Gamo lead balls will not cycle in the 1911 but other make are small enough. I am going to get some.
EDIT : Just waiting for the GSG522 now!!
Hurrah, put my new grips on: GRIPS,
but has anyone got any ideas on what can be done with the old grips...
spray them an industrial metally colour?
Drill pepperpot holes in them?
File bits smooth, and slices gashes in them, like this: http://www.ebXy.co.uk/itm/Aluminum-T...item415bb67847 (change the X in ebXy to an 'a', or search item: 280711559239)
Could they be sprayed a mother of pearl effect?
And how easy is it to change the appearance of the pistol...hows the re-bluing going?
Does it sand down to a shiny silver look?
I want to buy more, and customise!

Just got a cybergun 1911 from woody's of wembley, must say this is a great gun and was less cash than I parted with for my airsoft M92 cybergun. This gun really seems to cross between airsoft and airgun and fill a great gap in my collection. It will be cool to see special versions of this pistol or some custom parts. Just looking for some nice grips on flee bay. Thanks to all for the heads up.
My aluminium grips turned up today - they add a bit more weight which is nice!
PICS doesn't do it justice.
965grams, without gas or BBs.

Awesome, they would look great with a skeletonised hammer and trigger.
I think you hit the nail on the head there. They look great, but I'm mixing new and funky with a trad 1911
