    Which one felt the best?

You know that feeling when you've been looking for something for a long while.

You've missed maybe one, or possibly even two over that time.

Then one day out of the blue - there it is.

There is the gun you have been looking for above all others, for years

Which one was the best for you?

Tx200sr .177 in walnut stock. Looked at 3 or 4 before finding right one.

Was worth the wait but in the time it took I added another 15 rifles and 3 pistols to the collection.

When my brilliant friend, Ian, brought round a Feinwekbau 124 in very good condition with a Tasco scope and sold them to me at a bargain price. After a strip down and relube the 124 is shooting very sweetly indeed.

A decent straight grip senior - I waited ages for the right one, and my first MK II service which shot like a rat-trap but I thought it looked great

BSA Improved Model D in No3 bore. Had one years ago. Let her go and spent the next 15 years looking for another. I finally tracked one down a couple of weeks ago and am over the moon

Crosman 400 co2 repeater -- I dreamt about finding one after seeing the one owned by Ged Finn and, eventually, I found a first pattern model in wonderful condition.

I still remember how excited I was when the deal was struck and even more delighted when it arrived -- a great little rifle!

Oh yes - just remembered the day one of my Crosman 600s went auto shortly after I got it.......superb feeling, such a shame to have to fix it.

Mine was an Alros. Hankered after one for a while and couldn't find the right one, then gave up.

Or rather thought I had given up!

Out of the blue one turned up!

It is wonderful to experience that ephemeral moment, when chance and opportunity have coincided to deliver, that which you have coveted for so long. It has a rare emotion to it which is worthy of savouring IMO.

Indeed, in these times where everything seems to be about instant gratification, it is not an experience that is necessarily readily appreciated by others - so it's nice to see others on here feeling the same way
