I had a zoom model that I would describe as very good value for money

Mine was 32x max power if I remember rightly.

The image was bright and mine held the same zero at different magnifications.

The clicks worked and returned fine and the focus/parallax adjustment did not affect the zero when shooting at different ranges, however there was some PX error that I could not get rid of.

It seemed fine for the LSR 20 yard discipline and for hunting at lower mags but it was not a Ft scope as range finding capability was not very good.

The 40x may be better but with scopes, you do get what you pay for

I think you may soon wish to upgrade to do well in FT, but if you can, give it a try
