Now I have no axe to grind on this - but what I don't like seeing on forums are people being trashed for no reason. Shooter & the shooting community that serve them should (if the service is good) stick together & not bandy around half-truths (or no-truths !!).
I have NO link with the E B A Y seller you quoted - but if you are going to dish out info - then get your facts straight.
I mailed the guy & he seems as genuine as can be - here is his reply
Dear harricook,
The outer ply is top grade 18mm and measures that, the inner dividers were bought as 6mm ply but as is often the case is a fraction less. There is no metal protruding into the box.
I made it as small as possible, using the guidelines after seeing what Henry Kranks is selling for £110. The holes in his box are over 4 inch square and the hight is 14 inch. Big box.
I accept returns and will refund your money if you send it back.
Graham.

I used 12mm ply for the interior and the only issue I had was the first hinges I used were steel. I had to change them for brass even though I had pads covering the steel ones inside the box.
so its passed there approval now then,I used 12mm ply for the interior and the only issue I had was the first hinges I used were steel. I had to change them for brass even though I had pads covering the steel ones inside the box
looks like a solid box

I have every sympathy with anyone who feels they couldn't do a good job on this. Mine might have been squarish with some extra ventilation.
I found a bloke on that looked to have made a much better box than I could ever do but his dividers were thicker than the guidelines.
Then I came across this http://www.black-powder.co.uk/woodenbox.pdf
Possibly one of the most helpful sellers I have come across.
Anything in 18mm ply feels solid. Mot sure FLO would notice the difference but it is fully compliant.
