1 gun, 1 scope stick with it. Everytime you want to change something tot up the cost, spend the money on pellets and practice time. You'll be better after a year of consistency than a year of playing around with kit.
Springer(1yr), then move onto a PCP
Springer(1yr), Tuned Springer(1yr), then PCP
Springer(til bored),Tuned Springer,Custom Springer
Jump straight to PCP
Jump straight to PCP then Tuned/Custom PCP
The goal here is to gather as much experience an Knowledge from you wise folks on here and be the best shot I can be, with in the boundaries of the discipline I have selected and that is HFT.
I look forward to any side comments.

The toxicity of lead varies, depending upon the weight of its doseage and its velocity!
In addition to the above join one of your local clubs (Horsham, Buxted, Oaks) and try other folks kit before you buy anything!

I started over a year ago with a tuned springer, got quite good, then changed to PCP. Now I am rubbish with both. Stick to 1 gun what ever you choose.
The most important thing is to have fun. Join a club and you can shoot with like minded people and have a good chat and learn from them too.

I would say shoot whatever gives you the biggest grin
There is nothing more satisfying then a good round with a boinger.
Get rid of your missus
... then you can do as you please.
arf!
springers..... hmmmm.... some people still get nostalgic & misty eyed about old cars that you have to start with a handle.
While you can get good enjoyable results with them, you are making life harder work than it needs to be. If you can live with that, fair play.
Do your homework, buy once and stick to it, it will pay off in the long run.

Wow so much good advice, An the Poll is looking interesting. I'm not sure if you all can see the results as well. So if you can't please let me know. An I will start posting the results.
Just a bump.
Don't get all Dewey eyed over a PCPwhen everyone knows a good fully tuned springer like a HW97k or a AATX200 with a decent pellet is going to be hard for anyone to beat once you get the eye for it.I have the HW97 the Prosport and the Walther LGV,all of them will shoot target for target with any of my PCP guns. It's a case of learning to shoot the gun you have and that can be any gun,PCP or springer. And if you can shoot a springer then you can shoot any gun that comes along.

A start of the week bump, to get more voters.
the Idea of HFT was to shoot what you have/hunt with. simple as.
Cheers Lloyd
agree with full bandit and walrus. Ok not consistently good with my springer but I do enjoy it when I do get it right. Particularly when I pull off a knock down at 45 yd strong wind left to right with my .22 HW77 against a guy with a tuned air arms 400 in .177 who gets a donut. Tried my missus's HW100 and when I do get a pcp it will be a HW100 in .22 likes a challenge me lol. Whatever route you take its what you are comfortable with, can afford and enjoy.
Green Jacket, .22 is fun. I like it when a fellow guy on the Plinking range knocks a target down, but can't quite get the PCP.177 to reset it. An I sometimes on my first try with the Boinger .22 reset it. That is a great smile every time.
I also seam to be quite good at accidental Deforestation with the .22's
