Unlike walnut oil I do know the answer to this.
The 46 should be left uncocked and with breech open.
To preserve seals.
Does anybody keep their's cocked, to help the life of the seals??
It's often left cased for a few months at a time between use.
Particularly an IZH-46, but I guess it's all the same in principle

I can only comment from my experience. I leave all mine closed and uncocked. Including my FAS ssp. I have never had a problem. Sometimes they go years between shots.
I got my 46M from gingernut, and I leave it uncharged but as he says pull the sliding sleeve forward to relieve pressure on the transfer O ring which will deform in shape over time.
Baz
Which is what it says in the manual.
Which I will find one day.
Always had my FAS stored uncocked and not had any problems with seals
Life without happiness is no life at all.
Ah, thanks chaps...
I've just looked under the foam in it's case, and there is a green on white manual in Russian (), Plus a A4 manual in American!
Oh, and some seals, and some dangerous looking impliments that could have your eye out!
Also, there is a card from the guy who supplied the pistol, saying (among other things) 'store with the breech clip open to avoid compressing the seal'
I feels pretty stupid about now...
The manual is always under the foam!
I would not have lost mine if I had left it there.
Great pistol.
