Is it possible a previous owner "cleaned" the plastic with T-Cut?
I know that dissolves some plastics over time.
I've had an INDIAN air pistol sitting on the wall of my toy room since 1998.
Took it down for a shoot and found the"black stuff"-plastic,forming vital parts, has deteriorated. In fact the gun stuck to my hands and made them all black!
This gun won't last 50 years without quite a bit of 'modding"!![]()

I've had since new...it is #270...dated 1997. I suppose 16 years isn';t bad.
