I received my felt pellets today and fired about five through to clean the barrel and after i decided to try out the pistol and all seemed fine and i thought that the CO2 cartridge was empty so i unscrewed the chamber but a load of gas came out of the top of the pistol and the chamber had it a patch of ice on it and my concerns are could i have damaged the seal or could the freezing have done any damage to the cartridge tube .

Dave, I reckon next time you have a question, assume Adrians response is a reasonable answer and you'll probably be fine.
Your using a gun to hit targets, not hurling delicate glass swans at them. They are pretty robust by their nature, most problems you read about on here are exceptions and not everyday occurences. The more you shoot the more you learn and most of what you observe is normal, if in doubt, and if it is safe, give it a try.
