Musings on older airguns & Parts

I recently replied to a thread on here asking for a valuation on a Bsa Scorpion pistol.
    I suggested a price of £75 ? It had a .177 barrel & Cocking aid
My question is , Is this realistic ( I see he has dropped the price )

I have a number of these & Have just put these together , IE new buffer washer & O ring, One complete with sights, I am not asking for a valuation but would swap with cash for a Webley Senior .

I have had quite a few leaving me with some spares,
    I sold 3 .177 Barrels a couple of years ago for £25 each posted ( Which I thought a fair price )
I also sold 2 Trigger units complete at £20 posted.

We all know the price of spares from Chambers/Knibbs Etc, But sometimes we need them .
I started to sell some Scorpion items the Forums did not want on the Bay.
As an Example : A pistol stock made £32 + post Rear sights £25 + Etc.

A trigger unit from Mr Knibbs is £75 !!!! Sights are mostly unavailable, Breech washers ? Well
you know where I am going .
It has been mentioned on here & Other forums that Older airguns no longer command a " Reasonable " price,
I too think the price of guns like Mercury,s Webley Mk111s & many others are hardly worth selling, & Yet try to buy a set of sights, Or a stock , But parts are .

I know the cost of postage is a big disadvantage to selling , But I do not think most members want them.
    What do you think, Ged

It's always amazed me what parts go for on the bay Trigger units, iron sights, cylinders & barrels etc. Not just the old models either. Sometimes for not much less than a complete second hand gun would cost. I think all the various tuning threads contribute to the demand for these, purely for the tinkering factor in case people bugger up the originals

with the price of some older air rifles only fetching low prices it seem that they split and sell on the yabe and make a lot more money than had they sold complete,I have had to pay £40 for a weihrauch trigger only because I needed one in a hurry and not wishing to pay the price of a new one of £74 .

The price of spares in this country is shocking, but what are you to do Knibbs has a monopaly, dont get me wrong his stuff is good, but I dont like his prices, so I avoided if at all possible Protek are very good and very resonable on stuff.

    Thumbs up

I bought a Buccaneer and had to fit the safety and sights but got the screws mixed up!

After one shot down the garden, the long hammer snapped in the trigger, I reckon I put the screws it wrongly (Long one where a short one should have been!)

I kept bidding on complete trigger units off Bucc's and Scorpions but they were going for very high prices but I kept bidding and eventually won one for a little over £20 with P&P

The little Buccaneer is shooting lovely now!!
