    FAS 604 Question

I have just sold an FAS 604 to a chap on here and unfortunately it would not compress. I had tested it and had all the seals changed so was expecting it to work. Obviously this didn't.
I spoke to the chap who repaired it and he told me that he changed the two seals on the valve in the block. I was under the impression there were three seals in the valve assembly, but he suggests there are only 2. Looking on the internet, the pictures suggest 2 but in the detail, three are mentioned. Are there 3 or 2? Speaking to the chap who bought it, it sounds like the leak is on the valve end.
Is there a recommended servicer of these pistols as I dont want to sell it again unless it is 100% as it should be.

I resealed mine a long time ago and I seem seem to remember you are correct. There is a tiny hidden seal on the valve stem. You have to remove something to expose it. Will try and dig out my photos. These pistols are very easy to work on and the seals are just standard O rings. Lawrie Amatruda on here will be your man. I could do it but I do not like to get involved with posting items. Add: Just dug out a pic of the valve, not sure if the other seal is exposed when you knock the little pin out and remove top cover. See below..Also just found this rebuild, guy mentions the tricky seal under the shuttle.. Also check set of seals on bay £8.50.

Don't buy the salmon pink coloured seals since they are not durable in my experience. Use NBR 70 Shore A.
There are two 4mm inside diameter x 2mm thick seals, one one the top of the valve head as seen in the linked photo by Benelli B76 and one in the shuttle that seals against the valve shaft. The bigger one that sits on the valve seat is 7mm i/d x 1.5mm.

    Hope that helps, cheers.
