It is with a heavy heart that I make this post. Colin Raeside aka Instant Gymnast passed away peacefully at midday today with his family at his side, after a long and galant battle with various forms of cancer.
Since his initial diagnosis, Colin has put on a brave face and achieved more in a few years than many would in a life time. Not once did he dispare at his situation, he simply got on with life.
Colin was a member of the air rifle club at Bisley for a few years and was a friend of Terry Doe and many at the club.
His enthusiasm for life and shooting ran deep and was an inspiration for many. I have personally known Colin for 30 years, having met in the Air Cadets. This is where his interest in shooting started. We were shooting partners for three years and although he moved away and joined the RAF, we always kept in touch. He returned to our sport on 2012.
The world is a sadder place without Colin he will be sorely missed.
My thoughts go to his family and friends at this difficult time.
"Good bye old friend."
