I found A&A Gunsmiths to be very knowlegable on this subject.
Several blokes in my club have had ROAs converted to nitro. None of them seem to shoot as well as they did when they were BP revolvers....
Just saying.
My thoughts precisely, but as I noted in my OP, this information is not for me but for a klutz over the way who is trying to figure out how to do it, but without actually HAVING to do it, if you get my drift. I'm hoping to persuade him to leave off before he gets hurt, or hurts somebody else.
