Cant believe nobody has mentioned the Colchester Gamekeeper yet. I realise that they go for ridiculous prices but surely this must be a nostalgia thing? Anyone who has ever used one would know they are absolute heaps of junk. The only good thing about them (IMO) was that they have interchangeable barrels.

Vulcan, Viscount, Tracker and a feww others all let down by a crap trigger again with a half decent trigger they would have taken on Weihrauch and most others , the bluing and build quality were great just crap triggers
Thats eye level for me.

Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.
Worst British rifle I've owned - 1970's Webley Hawk Mk 2, without a doubt. Nearly new 'transitional' model with a Monte Carlo stock, .177 & .22 barrels. Stock broke on the pistol grip, apart from the 'safety' catch issues, also had problems with the trigger, ptfe seals. Best bit of the whole gun was the rear sight. My '50's Junior rifle had a better build QC. As does my mid '70's Meteor.
Don't know about the Merlin. As for BSA, I had quite a few problems with my underlever GoldStar in .22.
Webley Mk3 x2, Falcon & Junior rifles, HW35x2, AirSporter x2, Gold Star, Meteors x2, Diana 25. SMK B19, Webley Senior, Premier, Hurricane x 2, Tempest, Dan Wesson 8", Crosman 3576, Legends PO8.
