1913/1914.
If I've looked it up right.
Please can one of my learned friends tell me the period in which Light Pattern Serial Number
L 58554 was made, it has the number stamped low, near the trigger and the BSA stamped logo on a square grip stock.
I have a work mate that has had this many years and is keen to know....
I thank you!
1913/1914.
If I've looked it up right.
With the button underlever i would date it into the late 1930s if it has a side lever catch it certainly would be 1914, the button catch is later
1919on to the thirties. Roly.
Thanks again
I will give him the good news before he leaves, so late 30s then?
Hi Peter,
Hold yer horses.....
If it's L58.... the rifle can't exist as the highest number known to me is L40343, which left the BSA factory in December 1935. BSA discontinued the L prefix at this point and recommenced serial numbering with the A prefix the following month.
Could the number be L38....?
Kind regards,
John
Bugger, too late now as the chap is in Plumpton. The rifle looks like the ‘A’ in every respect but, defo L and think the number is correct too
