I recommend baking potatoes if you want a round that expands quickly, delivering all of its power at the target. However if you are looking for deeper penetration a hard, waxy salad potatoe would be the way to go. Don't used mashed; it is the equivalent of a Sussex sabo pellet i.e. it will clog up your barrel and prove highly inaccurate!

Being the spud snob that I am I prefer only new potatoes. I get them from my local fruit & veg man who is called Richard. He insists on removing all the eyes.
Does this make him a 'Dick Tator'? [What?]

This is well made heavy but a totally pointless spud gun why put so much effort into making this . Annoying there are no markings and I know nothing about it

I had a couple like the red one when I was a kid (Got them from the rag and bone man in return for scrap!!), The muzzle end was triangular though so that the when it was oked in to the tater, A quick twist removed a core ready to shoot!!

Just a pic of a couple of shorty Beesas!!

Love that spud gun. Could it have doubled up as an airgun if the end section is easy to remove, so explaining its well made structure? I am thinking that it has a lot in common with the old German Nova pistol, which you could use as spud gun, or you could remove the end unit and load a slug or dart.

Hi Baz, I used to prefer the ones with the swing out cylinder & removable cartridge you put a cap in. Recently heard a rumour these were made illegal as a firearm?
    John.
ok, I admit it, I've got a problem.

John, wouldn't surprise me, most things in UK are illegal or as some say "highly illegal" whatever that means. Basically if you walk out your front door you must be doing something wrong. Seriously, I suppose it is propelling a projectile by a type of "charge" albeit not enough to hurt a cockroach. You can't own one of those but you can buy a bow.
