They arent the prettiest stock in the world are they?
These are pics of Johns HW35 Lochschaft.
They arent the prettiest stock in the world are they?
A man can always use more alcohol, tobacco and firearms.
Its not bad at all.
The stock is Beech, compare to the grain of the Walnut Export above. The orange colour flecks are found on most Beech stocks.
A nice find at a good price. They may not be the prettiest stock but how do they handle?
WANTED: Next weeks winning lottery numbers :-)
Thanks Frank for putting the pics up. As you can see its not in too bad condition now all the brown paint is removed. I guess its definatly beech then, that's why I took pic with my 35E as a comparison. I've also got a std 35 that is beech, but the thumbhole looks nothing like that. In answer to 'how does it handle' it's ok, seems very point able with the thumbhole stock, but it's a bit of a pain when you realise you havnt pushed the safety off when you go to take a shot, as I'm right handed and I have to sort of unravel my hand from the stock to push it off, rather than just using your thumb as normal. John.

These were only made for 12 months I understand 1977 - 78 and only came in beech. Hope that is some help? Mach 1.5
Ah - the illusive HW35 Safari. It took me years to find one. Its not the nicest '35 by any means but I needed one for the set.
Perhaps the 35 Thumhole was available on the foreign market a lot later and just not imported into the U.K.

These pics bring back memories of when I was younger.I use to have a hw35 and a few other guns of that era.
The LS was also available for sale along side the HW85 after 1986.
Oh I thought it was a limited run for the UK market! Interesting. Mach 1.5
