hi.
i have the chance to purchase one of these for £110 but now im told when pumping the rifle there's no pressure, so if i was to purchase it,
is it an easy job to fit the new seals.or do i need a valve removal tool.
ive offered him £70 for it,
could be the cup but also could be the stem or the exhaust body seal
only way to know is to strip it really but as a first step I would check the cup condition
to do they're fairly easy if the gland nut undo's as it should I have a gs3xx to do and it's not undoing so I'm still considering how to get this valve out
not sure if I have any tools in stock at present
hes bringing it over to mine next tuesday, for me to have a look at.
General condition is important, the finish is rather complex, the barrel and pump tube are normally solid brass with a silver coloured nickel plating, then a black oxidised finish on top of the nickel.
If the black finish is all there and original, that would be unusual, removing the stock (one screw) MAY show you the original finish.
Many have been stripped back to bare brass, or just to nickel, beware of a painted finish hiding a mess underneath.
Provided it has a decent original finish, if you can get it for £100 or so, BUY IT!
Do you know anyone who can do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6t3kDdXNAw
