I have to agree, the sloping back BSA's are things of beauty. And to my mind, The Cadet Major beats the Airsporters in pure good looks. Everything seems to be in balance for me and the lines and relationship of metalwork and woodwork cant be beaten.
Plus they are bloody good fun to shoot, and a real challenge at longer ranges. When anyone has a go with any of my Cadets, a smile goes across their face, as they realise what superb fun they are to shoot.

Fozzy
Definitely the HW80. A true workhorse, easy to tune and very accurate. My Airsporter S was a beauty but shame the rails were shallow. I had the FWB Sport too but it just wasn’t as consistent as my HW80’s
Mk1 HW80. That angular forend was so of its time and so distinctive.
Also agree that the Mercury S is lovely looking rifle.
The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?
Harry Callahan: When a man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher’s knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn’t out collecting for the Red Cross.
My favourite classic looking air rifle is the early Airsporters and Club.
My favourite air rifle is something German.

Difficult this one...!
It would be hard to choose between these BSA's:
Superstar, Superstar Carbine, Mercury S, Airsporter RB2, Challenger, Challenger Carbine...not an "also ran" between them, all first past the post......

Webley Mk.11 Service, closely followed by the Mk.1 Airsporter.
There have been many aesthetically pleasing rifles since, some of which have been mentioned in this thread, but the aforementioned are in my opinion, true classics.
Yes, except I’d prefer the Tomahawk in the same spec. The Longbow is just a bit stubby by comparison.
1950s Diana 35s sometimes have great wood, and look to my eye the epitome of a classic break-barrel.
Mk1 Airsporter, of course (Mk1 is slightly more elegant than the Mk2).
Hard to choose between
Cadet Major
Mercury Challenger
Airsporter Centenary
And if I have to have something German, the Diana 50 isn't too shabby
Surprised no one has suggested the FWB Sport.
